Area of Rectangles and unit squares Tuesday 31st July

For   maths    this    week    we   have   been    learning    to    measure    the     area   of   a   rectangle using   unit    squares.

To measure the area of the rectangle, we started from the corner and covered the shape in unit squares and when we had covered the whole shape, we counted the number of squares we used.

In this photo, the area of the rectangle I measured was 6 unit squares.

Our Garden is growing

We went to check our garden and it is growing well.  There are no strawberries yet!  But the seeds have grown lots!

Kiwi can

L.I: To bounce back

Today me and Group A went to Kiwi can. We had a good start cause we did a warm up game for the kiwi can leaders. They had to guess what were doing in the holidays by acting it out. We got into our energiser and we played Oder up. How does that game work. Well, the Kiwi can leaders had to tell us what things that goes in order and we had to go in order. It was kinda difficult. Reason why? Cause we had to be silences. We couldn't talk but we nearly got it right. There were 2 mistakes well we were playing it was the birthday moths and the ages.  We talk about what we are going to do in the future. I didn't put my hand up cause I didn't know what I was gonna do in the future. We had an activities. Our activities was we played a game called Up or down. To play we had 3 cones and 2 hula hoops. 1 hula hoop to stand in and another one to through in the cones. There were 1 and 2 team. Team 2 won and Team 1 lost. I was in Team 1 but I didn't care cause at the end everyone was a winner. We didn't got to see our points cause we ran out of time.

Tuesday 24th July 2018 Hairy Maclary

We read Hairy Maclary! Hairy Maclary goes for a walk with his friends Hercules Morse, Bottomley Potts, Muffin Mclay, Bitzer Maloney and Schnitzel von Krumm and they get attacked by the cat Scarface Claw!  So they all run home to bed!

Duffy Theatre Monday 23rd July

On Monday we got to watch a Duffy Theatre performance in the hall.  I really enjoyed singing the song.

Matariki Celebration

Yesterday all of Panmure Bridge School celebrated Matariki together. We watched performances from our Kapa Haka Groups, the Drumming Group, Ukulele Group, and dances from the Pacifica Group. Our celebration began with us all singing the song He Honore.
We ended our celebration with our feast of sausages and bread. Thank You Whaia Odie for organising this great day.

Sione Matariki Celebration

This is the slide show we made in LS2 today.  We worked together in groups with LS2 students and wrote about what we know about Matariki using our smart searching skills, sharing ideas and finding information.

Maori 4th July

Today we are having a special Matariki celebration at school!

Matariki is when  people come    together to celebrate   the things in the past.

Matriki   is a time   to learn about    your whakapapa (Ancestry)   matariki now is celebrated by trying some new Maori Art, Manu Aute (kite day)
